It was not that long ago that the word JAVA made me think of an Island in a far off ocean. But with today's rapid growth of the world wide web, JAVA is an internet word.

This manual offers to teach you, yes you,  JavaScript in a quick and easy way. It is the 3rd Edition, there having presumably been an edition no 1 and 2 in the past. The guide says it uses pictures rather than lengthy explanations, in truth it has no more pictures than the average computer manual or book I have reviewed over the last year. So nothing special here. The colour is a uniform monochrome with just a hint of red ink now and then. It would have been nice to have seen full colour being used in the screen shoots and printing them just a little larger would have helped too. In fact printing everything a little larger would not go amiss.

Sorry guys, but perhaps by edition 4 things will get better  and a companion CD should I hope be  included by then.  As you can perhaps tell this guide failed to impress me and I do not think it reached the standard which it set itself.
