Intro Running Microsoft Word 2000 confirms this range of manuals published by Microsoft press as perhaps the best manual range for Microsoft's 2000 range bar none. As with the rest of the manuals in the series it is aimed at the new to experienced user. It is an authoritative handbook that you will keep by your computer.
Highs All the usual requirements are covered. Installation, setting up and day to day running. There are sections covering graphics, macros and vba, and as we have come to expect from Microsoft sections on publishing documents on to the internet.
Lows Perhaps it could have done with a companion CD with example files and documents to work with.
Conclusion Microsoft Word 2000 is perhaps the number one program any one should have on their computer and as such most people simply do not see the need to buy a manual for a program they know so well. It was only after reading Running Microsoft Word 2000 that I realized just how much of Word was unknown to me. Thankfully I can now produce far better work and in a shorter time than before. If you are serious about using this program then it is a must have manual.
