If you cant trust Canon, then who can you trust?

The Canon BJC 8200 uses no less than six separate ink tanks to supply its printer heads.   This means that single tanks only have to be replaced individually when their ink runs out. This offers a saving over other printers that have one large ink tank, holding three colours  which need replacing when just one colour ink runs out. It is worth mentioning that Canons software will inform you when the ink level in any tank is down to around the 20% mark. The tanks themselves are transparent as well allowing you to check visually their contents. The cost of each tank of ink is around £9. The printer heads are separate from the ink tanks and cost around £70 and should be good for some 5000 pages

Ink cost per page, always a tricky one to calculate is as follows

Note: These costs are based on paper at 1p per sheet except for the A4 print which is priced at .75p per sheet for Canons own Photo Paper Pro PR-101

Page update 20/8/2000

The price of the Printer cartridge with 6 ink tanks in the US would appear to be $99, according to Canon UK you will need a new print cartridge approximately ever 5000 pages!  This is is to replace worn out printer heads.
