This Canon printer is capable producing
the perfect print, it is only reasonable that many of these prints will
find themselves on display. In the past many writers have questioned the
colour fastness of inks used by ink jet manufactures. We have seen great
prints which after just a few weeks begin to show signs of fading due to
exposure to direct sun light, indeed some have almost faded away
altogether after only a few months.
Canons ink is colour fast according to the
literature published by them. However they do point out that their inks
will fade over time and prints should not be exposed to direct sun light.
We have every reason to believe that Canons
inks are as colour fast as can be made with the technology currently
available. To test just how colour fast the ink used in the Canon BJC 8200
is we have set up a little experiment of our own. A series of test strips
cut from one print will be subjected to direct sun light. Strip 1 to one
week, strip 2 for two weeks and so on until strip 10 has received ten full
weeks of exposure. |
