QuickBooks 2002 Product Overview
For the past ten years QuickBooks has been the engine that powers small
business success, and 2002 is no exception. This year, Intuit is offering
a wide range of tools and services that address the unique financial needs
of each and every small business. Through its "Right for My Business"
strategy, Intuit is delivering a host of new offerings that will help meet
the unique needs of small businesses everywhere - from the butchers and
the bakers to the candlestick makers.
This year, the QuickBooks family has expanded to include QuickBooks
Premier. QuickBooks Premier is a desktop financial management solution
that offers small businesses the same ease-of-use that QuickBooks users
have come to expect in the past, with even more flexibility and advanced
accounting functionality to meet the needs of larger or more complex
businesses. The following is an overview of the three products: QuickBooks
Basic, QuickBooks Pro, and QuickBooks Premier: Accountant Edition.
QuickBooks Basic 2002
QuickBooks Basic offers businesses with less than 10 employees the basic
tools for fast and easy financial management.
New Features:
QuickBooks Credit Check Service powered by Dun & Bradstreet allows for
more informed decision-making when extending credit. Transaction fees
apply.
QuickBooks Online Billing Service enables small business owners to accept
instant payments, either through Pay Pal or the user's existing Merchant
Account Service; and e-mail statements and invoices.
Key Enhancements:
QuickBooks Accounting Live Advice Center helps small business owners
obtain answers quickly - either via phone or e-mail - from QuickBooks
Certified Pro Advisors.
QuickBooks Online Backup Service automatically saves data to give users
security and peace-of-mind.
Accounts Receivable makes tracking customer payments easier and helps
small business owners keep records more accurately.
Archiving Function lets users condense current data and increases file
speed for long-time QuickBooks users.
Customizable Forms allow users to import company logos to help them create
a more professional look for online invoices, purchase orders and
receipts.
New "Find" Feature makes it easier to locate specific transactions and
finish accounting tasks sooner.
New "Help" Feature provides access to a "One Stop Help Shop" and delivers
actionable error messages making it easier to understand errors and get
assistance quickly.
Improved Payroll allows for the integration with 1099, W-2 and 941B forms
for more accurate tax reporting and filing.
Report Customization includes sort and move functionality for columns on
any summary report, and allows users to incorporate information such as
employee numbers or customer phone numbers to any transaction report.
Enhanced Sales Tax Functionality makes it faster and easier to configure
sales tax accurately.
QuickBooks Pro 2002
QuickBooks Pro offers businesses with less than 20 employees more advanced
tools to help manage their finances more effectively. QuickBooks Pro 2002
includes the same exciting new features and enhancements found in
QuickBooks Basic 2002, in addition to several great new features.
New Features:
Automatic duplicate job estimates save time.
Multiple estimates per job make job costing and tracking payments easier
and more efficient.
Integration with business and industry-specific applications saves time
and effort by reducing duplicate data entry.
Quick access to third-party solutions improves efficiency. Includes
general applications like shipping or time and billing, and specific
applications for contractors, retailers and non-profit organizations
through the QuickBooks Solutions Marketplace. (Applications subject to

QuickBooks Premier 2002 For Accountants
QuickBooks Premier, the newest product in the QuickBooks family, offers
the most comprehensive set of tools and services for businesses that need
greater flexibility and functionality to help them grow. QuickBooks
Premier 2002 has the same core functions and enhancements found in
QuickBooks Pro 2002, along with the additional new features listed below.
New Features:
New and improved reconciliation reporting increases data accuracy.
New import and export report templates include custom reports to save time
and help businesses track growth.
Key Enhancements:
Closing date and track changes feature with a password protect option,
users gain additional convenience and security.
General journal options automatically numbered entries, repeatable memo
fields, and reverse entries save time and improve recording accuracy.
One year of free remote access service offers flexibility and convenience
to enter and retrieve QuickBooks information outside the office. This
service also gives users a better way to share data with their
accountants.
