Installation as always with any Norton
Symantec software was quick and easy, followed as usual with a connection
with the internet to update the software to the very latest version,
this also updates the virus database. Norton Utilities "Win Doctor"
found several faults within Windows XP and corrected them, running the
virus protection software then checked to see if any virus was on the
computer, none was found. Any e-mails that are sent or received are
automatically checked for viruses. We did find, the speed disk software
needed a rather lengthy period of time to complete the task of
defragmenting a hard disk ,and needed full control of the computer during
this time. We would only recommend using the speed disk over night,
when the computer would not be in use.
Ultimately the effectiveness of the anti
virus software is only as good as the company that makes and
supports the software. Here you can be totally sure of Norton Symantec,
they are the world leaders in this field and can be trusted without
hesitation.
Our recommendation is that any one
connected to the internet must have this software installed on to their
computer, to do otherwise would be very foolish indeed. Even allowing for
the slow speed of speed disk and its need for total control of the
computer we are more than happy to award this software with our highest
